Is there a reason why DGS #8204548 is locked and available only at the FHL or an FHC? This appears to be the only one of the 556 volumes of Bristol Co. Deeds that is not available online, and since it is an early 18th century volume (Volume 7) it is of particular importance.

I notice that this volume has its own page in the catalog. So perhaps there is something different that means the record owner (the Register of Deeds for Northern Bristol County, an elected public official) has not given consent for FS to make these records available from home. I noticed when looking at their website that Bristol County has different Registries of Deeds for different parts of the county, so don't expect that all of them will have negotiated the same deal with FS.

I think it would be helpful if a FS staff member could check whether this film has the correct restriction, and inform @Dale Cook_2 .

Otherwise, especially if you live and vote in Bristol County, you should contact the Register of Deeds (Barry J. Amaral) and ask why he, or one of his predecessors, objects/objected to FS making these records available from people's homes through FS. If he no longer has objections, you should ask him to contact FS and negotiate a new contract.
