When I try to add information to my family tree the "next" box is no longer active in order to make the change. Why?

If you are trying to add a new person to Family Tree, the "Next" box will not be activated until to add specific information.

The system will require that you add something in one of the name fields; that you include a Gender [preferably either Male of Female...using Unknown can create problems later], and that you mark the person either as living or deceased [if you don't know for sure that someone is deceased, please add them as living until you can find a death record if you believe they were born in the last 110-years].

We hope we have understood your concern. Filling something in these top three fields will activate the Find button even if you don't know details such as dates and places of life events or names of other family members.

We hope you will connect new records to your pedigree, however, you can also add an Unconnected person if you wish to do so. We hope these knowledge articles will be helpful.
