I have been able to attached myself to pictures and then all of a sudden I cannot. I can attach my husband and other family members, but not myself. I have cleared out the cookies. Does anyone have any suggestions. Family Search Support said to ask you... I think it is an engineering problem that needs to be resolve...

Thanks.

    Hello @Karen Slavens

Sorry to hear about the difficulty you are having tagging photos with your name.

It does sound like it's a computer "glitch" of some kind. Have you tried clearing temporary files and cache from your browser? You may even need to switch browsers and/or restart your computer.

Here is a link to an article that explains the computer "housekeeping" chores, if needed:

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-delete-all-of-the-cookies-and-temporary-files-stored-by-my-internet-browser

Notice that this article explains how to delete FamilySearch cookies, too.

    1. Go to https://FamilySearch.org/cookies.
    2. When the message Reset your cookies? appears, click Yes.

If you are still having problems tagging photos, let us know.

    @Karen Slavens

Karen, because you have successfully tagged yourself in memories, and can still tag others we believe you may have tagged or attached the maximum number of memories allowable for a single ID.

While there is not a limit of the number of memories users may contribute, there is a limit of 1,000 per ID (person). The actual number seems to actually be slightly less, about 990+.

If you do have 900 memories tagged to your ID, we suggest carefully evaluating and saving only the best. Others can be placed in albums but not tagged to your ID.

Also, be sure all of the items tagged to your ID actually have “you” in the memory.

Another possibility is that you could make sure that your browser is updated to the most current version and or try another browser.

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/which-internet-browsers-are-compatible

    Notice:

Regardless of the operating system you use, our website works with these fully supported browsers:

    • Apple Safari—the current version and one previous
    • Google Chrome—the current version and one previous
    • Microsoft Edge—the current version and one previous
    • Mozilla Firefox—the current version and one previous

    Hopefully that will help.
