Does a nursing home count as a residence place?

I’m indexing an obituary where it recorded the nursing home a woman resided when she passed away. Should I record that as a place of residence?

We would need to see that batch to give an accurate answer. May we please have the Shared Batch code? You can share it by looking at the project name and copying the name and the code in brackets at the end and pasting here.

From the knowledge article linked below on How should I Index Obituaries:

    1. Index only place-names, such as towns, counties, states, or countries, that were mentioned in the document. Do not assume a place, and do not index locations such as “Galion Community Home” or assume that the community home is in a city called “Galion.”

Many of these projects have varying instructions on how to index locations so best to be able to look at the batch being indexed. That said, John is likely right on this question.

If the nursing home is listed as "a (name of town) nursing home" rather than like Pleasant View Nursing Home the name of the town would be listed as the residence. Don't confuse this with one simply named the same as the town name.
