New Idea?
Hello,
I am a DNA administrator for a surname project. Something I would like to see and maybe it is already happening, a place where family lineages can be grouped together based on y-DNA relationship. There should be designed in a way where everyone in the group can provide a link to their online tree, keep notes and the ability to contact eachother through the FamilySearch interface for collaborative efforts. This would encourage users to search for their appropriate group based more on y-DNA results rather than exclusively surname. The reason for this is men with many different surnames can more closely share the same y-DNA in recorded genealogical time. I don't want to get too deep into the weeds on what I'd like to see it look like but this is the basic outline.
Kind regards,
Joe

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Great suggested enhancement ...
You are not alone ...
The "Request" for the ability to "Upload" DNA "Results", into "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', is NOT "New" ...
And, has been requested on, MANY; Many; many, occasions ...
Now ...
That Said ...
Just in case you were not aware ...
Here is a "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch':
Using DNA in family history research
https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/using-dna-in-family-history-research
Where is states, among other things:
Quote
------------------
Please note that FamilySearch does not endorse or recommend any commercial DNA applications for genetic genealogy.
Nor does our Family Tree provide specific features to post or link DNA groups based on DNA matches.
------------------
But ...
That Said ...
Who is not to say, that such, will not be available in the Future ...
And ...
As an aside ...
Please be aware that:
▬ 'FamilySearch' was created by the Church ...
▬ 'FamilySearch' is FREE to ALL ...
▬ 'FamilySearch' is NOT a "Commercial" Website (ie. Pay/Subscription) ...
There are many competing priorities, in "Family Tree" (and, the OTHER Parts), of 'FamilySearch'; and, there are very LIMITED Resources (eg. "Funds") available to 'FamilySearch'.
And, there are ALREADY, "Other" Websites, that offer the ability, to "Upload" DNA "Results".
Again, great suggestion ...
But, unfortunately, there are other more pressing matters, that need to be addressed/fixed.
Just my thoughts.
Brett

Hi @Joe Sprowl. For this I would recommend the FamilySearch research wiki. You can have all the pages you want there, with links to Family Tree.
