I raise my hands whilst waving a white flag and boarding the last train outa here:

The New Search User Interface is infuriating. More users convey a similar message than those relatively few Familysearch staff who try to convince us that it is great, that is is we that are at fault and that any difficulty is down to our stupidity.

The old system worked fine. Why fix something that wasn't broken? (but now it is).

What use is a new toy which is said to be 30% faster at (now) not finding the information searched for, when it takes the user 300% longer to get nowhere?

All I can do now is to add information to ancestors on the tree from more reliable and more easily searchable websites.

If lucky I can find a corresponding source to attach, but in many cases I cannot find that source directly through searching on this site. I find several entries on the GRO UK online indexes that are not here. Ditto on Free BMD. All Aboard!

I must agree 110%. I used to really enjoy coming on here. Now with the new search feature, I just stop right there. I back out of what I was going to search.

I also can no longer see any census records that I used to be able to easily. I’m not sure what is happening here, do they want fees so we can use the site properly again?

after many years of inputting my family tree and other peoples trees onto this site, I seriously feel cheated!

I will still input information which I find elsewhere but I find myself avoiding using the familysearch new search facility altogether and spending my time looking for ways to circumnavigate it. The old system was a breeze. This is like knitting fog.

If I create a new person who I may have e.g. found on the online UK government GRO Birth Registration index, I enter it and wait for the familysearch machine to throw up possibly relevant "sources" which I can review and add later if they match.

I no longer search for anything on Familysearch search-records, preferring to waste my time more pleasurably elsewhere.
