Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Hopefully, the "Moderators" [ ie. 'FamilySearch' "Support" (Personnel) ] will contact you through a "Private" Communication, to help/assist you directly.
For starters ...
As an aside ...
There is a way to STOP another User/Patron from sending you, ("Private") 'Messages', in "User Messaging", of 'FamilySearch'.
Here is a "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch':
How do I mute or block someone from messaging me?
And, here are some other "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch':
What are the rules for discussions and messages?
https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/what-are-the-rules-for-discussions-and-messages
How do I report abuse, spam, inappropriate memories, and other content?
I hope this helps, to start with, somewhat.

Hi @BethFrancis
It is so sad when others do not work with respect and choose instead to belittle the efforts of others. You can follow the instructions in the following knowledge article to actually block the person who is being unkind while still being able to receive messages from other users. Please click the link below to review the article. Basically, in the message field where you see their message, if you click on their name above their message, you can mute them which will keep you from seeing any future messages from them.
You also have the ability to delete messages others have sent if you wish to do so. In the Left panel of the inbox, click SELECT, then put a check in the box just to the left of a person's name. You will see the Trash Can at the top of the screen and will then be able to delete any conversation you do not wish to keep.
@Brett has already explained that if you feel you are being harassed, you can use the Report Abuse option which is found if you click the name just above a message they have sent to you.
Again, we are so sorry you have had this experience. We hope future collaboration with others will be more positive and uplifting for you.

FYI: I am not seeing Mute/Report options in Android Family Tree app - it only shows Report Abuse in 3dot menu - I don't see mute.
I finally found the options for Mute and Report Abuse in the FamilySearch messaging (mobile and non-mobile) - when viewing the message sent from the person - these options are available only by clicking on the person's name above that message - not from the person's name in the To field above or browsing all messages on the left.
