In the collection "Luxemburg Kirchenbücher 1601-1948," in the location of Mersch, the book entitled "Baptêmes 1675-1795" is in error. It actually covers the years 1675-1695. (Much to my disappointment! That means the years 1696-1716 are not covered at all.)

Skimming through, it looks like the film contains baptisms for 1675-1695 and 1717-1772. The '7' instead of a '6' in the first end date comes from the first "bookmark" image (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-99WS-93QX?i=3&cc=2037955&cat=195589), meaning the error dates back all the way to 1962.

Unfortunately, it's likely that the cataloging error is a red herring: the missing baptisms are likely to be due to a missing register. 1716 was a loooong time ago; the book had plenty of time to get lost, misfiled, or destroyed.

However, given the overlapping dates for baptisms on the other films from Mersch (https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/195589?availability=Family%20History%20Library), it may be worth it to carefully skim through all of the films, to see if the missing chunk is misfiled on one of them.
