General User Interface
The new General User Interface is more time consuming because you now have sort through hundreds of records that you do not want. The previous Interface I could search for specific records such as just birth or death or resident etc. The Interface is slow and has glitches. I have been using Family Search for almost 9 years. It is more then just having a learning curve to contend with. This is the most frustrating search engine I have ever used.
At least give users an option of which Interface to use. If not, Family Search will see a dramatic drop in usage and users will be less likely to contribute to records.

I found pages and pages of records that have recorded the incorrect century. I suspect machine work but it should be the 1700s and is indexed as 1800s. I fixed one but it probably needs looked at by a professional. Here is one of the pages where it blatantly states 179x.... and the indexing stats 189x..... the actual text was poorly written since the author skipped the "17" part and was just stating the last 2 digits of the year. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:684F-LKJG

My comment: I am baffled and quite disappointed. I am unsure why you made the change and I wonder who on your designed team thought the change was a good one. I cannot believe that it was a unanimous decision to move forward with the new UI. The new search tool is tedious.
When I enter specific data, why does it return most data that is not even remotely close to what I entered.
Go back to presenting the user with a full list of search options, not just the 4 initial items. Most of us are, I believe, experienced users. I have transcribed for you, I have made corrections to numerous items and I have created a tree on your site. The experienced users deserve more respect.

Alex
