Indexing Fields move

Why is it that, whenever I highlight a letter in a field (so I can type over it), if I make the slightest motion up or down, the program thinks I want to move something. However, it doesn't move anything in the field where I'm working but rather ALWAYS move the date field down to where I was ???

    Hi Jerry.

This can only happen in Form Entry Mode - the only Entry Mode where we can reorder Fields (by dragging and dropping). We can't manipulate the fields in any other Entry Mode. I can't replicate your exact problem today, i.e. having a date field to where I was fooling with the field values. But I have had your kind of experience with accidentally having a field pop to the top of the form when I was simply trying to manipulate the values in that field.

The solution is to lock the field order. I have previously suggested (not in this forum) that the ability to reorder (drag and drop) fields in Form Entry mode be "lockable/unlockable.' This would ensure that this annoying accidental movement of a field can't take place once you're happy with the field order. Maybe I should suggest it in this Indexing Ideas forum.
