Contact Name

I am no longer able to search the family tree. If I try, it tells me that I need a contact name. There is what appears to be a link to create a contact name, but it does not go anywhere. If I go to my profile, I can create a contact name. However, when I leave the screen, it no longer exists, and it tells me I have no contact name.
