hi

when ever you add a place name family search adds those details to the person

when printing a fan chart the last place name of country shows as seperate coulors when printing the chart

such as england ireland scotland wales each have their own coulor

but ending a place of birth with united kingdom a fan chart is printed with the same coulor

so you cannot tell where your english irish scottish and welch family lines start from

how do we print fan charts without it printing united kingdom coulor

thank you for your help

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

As far as I am aware ...

Short Answer: You CANNOT ... (Except, with the 'work around', suggested below).

The reason, that the "United Kingdom" appears as such, is that, the 'Suffix' of the "Place Name", on the "Birth" Record, in the "Vitals" Section, for an individual/person, has been "Standardised"; as, the "United Kingdom".

    As such ...

As a 'work around'; especially, for the "Fan Chart", of the "Pedigree" View ...

IF, you would prefer the 'Suffix' of the "Place Name", on the "Birth" Record, in the "Vitals" Section, for an individual/person, to appear; as, England, Wales, Scotland; or, Ireland; THEN, you have to "Standardise" the "Birth" Record as such, rather than having such "Standardised" as the "United Kingdom".

Basically, you have to FORCE the "Standardisation", for England, Wales, Scotland; or, Ireland, rather than accepting the 'Suffix' of the "United Kingdom"; especially, when it comes to particular 'Time' Periods.

As far as I am aware, that is the ONLY 'work around'; especially, for the "Fan Chart".

    Good Luck.

I hope that this helps. somewhat.
