US, Minnesota, Brown County—Obituaries, 1855–1990[M381-V4J]

This doesn't look like a funeral program to me so it shouldn't be indexed, correct? It does have death information but Instructions say -

  • Index all obituaries, death notices, and funeral programs.
  • Mark all other images, including marriage, anniversary, and birthday announcements, family group sheets, family history stories, or live announcement articles, in Step 1: Images as No, No Extractable Data.

Well i cant see the file youre talking about. However, sounds to me like youre on the right track, if the instructions say to mark them so, then i would.

ive always wondered though, where do they go? Because they do have data thats extractable but they just arent what the batch is for. Is that person lost forever??

T his is part of a funeral program so needs to be indexed per the Project instruction you posted.

That does not look like an obituary or funeral program to me. If you look at the reference images, I think you will find this is a "Brief History of the Bode Family 1813 - July 31, 1938". I would not index this.

@Colin Keleko Pumau'u Yamamoto_1 I was told that images that are marked NED are looked at and if they need to be put in a different project they are. If they are marked incorrectly as NED, they are sent back out for indexing.

As Melissa indicated, It sure seems like one of those “ family history stories” that are explicitly supposed to be marked NED per the “What to Index” part of the Project Instructions.

Thanks for your answers. I felt like it fit in more as a family history story, too.
