How do I enter names of infant twin daughters that died shortly after birth and were not given names? Their maker only reads, “Infant Twin Daughters.” When I use “Infant” as the first name, Family Search says, “This person’s name contains one or more invalid words “ Thank you!

    Hello Daniel.

    • For an individual with an unknown name or a child who died without receiving a name, enter only the last name of the father or family name into the surname field. Do not enter a first name. Do not enter Mr., Miss, son, or daughter. Be sure the sex is correctly entered as male or female.

@DianaHawks , right, do not enter a given name, but @Daniel S McNew has more of a problem. The twins will have exactly the same information, Surname, DOB, Place, Sex, Parents. How can Daniel show these Twins as separate individuals on FSFT? There is no really good way that I know. He might enter in an explanation in the "Life Sketch" section. Maybe put in a Note on the name or DOB, maybe enter in an explanation in "Collaborate". Maybe enter in Twin I and Twin II in their "Title" seems to give an easy to see alert to others. (The system will not let you enter in a number 1 or 2 in the Title field). That's what I would do temporarily . I don't know, FamilySearch Family Tree, what do you suggest, do you have or can you develop a better solution?

@DianaHawks , right do not enter a given name, but @Daniel S McNew has a different problem. Both individuals will have exactly the same information, Surname, dob, place, dod, sex and parents. How can Daniel show them as separate individuals on FS FT? There is no good way that I know. He can enter an explanation into the Life Sketch section, maybe a note on the Name, maybe something in the Collaborate area. He could enter in "Twin I" and "Twin II" in the their Title fields. This is what I would do as a temporary fix. Seems an easy way to alert others of the issue. (System will not let you enter numbers in the Title field so use Roman numerals). FamilySearch, do you have or can you develop a better method?

One other thing, be sure to show a Not a Duplicate with an explanation when the Possible Duplicate alert shows up on their detail page.
