Does anyone know how long after a Index has been reviewed is it searchable?
I have not heard the answer to this question and would like to know.

I don't know - but would suspect there is a pre-publication process that needs to be gone through before a collection/index is published. My guess would be from a month to 6 months - just a shot in the dark?

Dellory Matthew, thank you for posting the links. I've been indexing and reviewing tax collections. I went to September's collections and looked up Georgia Tax and searched on a name. It was nice seeing the end result of my indexing and seeing what the research sees. John

As a follow up based on copied links and the like. I just want to know how long after a Index has been reviewed until it is able to be searched. I have a Indexing Course I am teaching Sunday and thought I would add it as information and to satisfy my curiosity.

Short Response: I too would like to know - it would be great to be able to see the complete Indexing and publication process - but much of it is internal to FamilySearch. I don't think there is a 'set' publication schedule that would have a uniform answer for all indexed records being published. There does appear to be a 'priority listing' for which records are scheduled ahead of others - based upon demand, etc - but other than just 'keeping an eye peeled' for reference on FamilySearch blog or releases about collections published for the quarter (I think this is the best information you can give your Indexing class) - I don't think you will find a 'set' schedule that you could reference.
Your question (slightly restated): Is there a most recently published collection reference? I think the closest you will get to seeing Indexing/recently published is through Search> Records> Browse By Place - and selecting a place from the map. Example: https://www.familysearch.org/search/location/united-states-of-america
Which includes reference: https://www.familysearch.org/indexing/projects/country/us?icid=idx_other_projects
(Interestingly it appears not all Projects are listed - example below)
I did also find this helpful page (the most recently added images at Search> Images):
Roughly 1400 image collections (at 2pm) made available today alone at this point! I don't know exactly if this means the whole collection of Images was published today or if it means some of the collection was added to today (there could be a difference - but still impressive!).
Which brings up another question about 'process':
Does FamilySearch make the Images available before an Indexing Project? My guess - Yes - because some of the Image collections do not have an Index.
Next question: Does an Indexing Project remove Images from being accessible? I don't know - my guess - no.
Specific example: When I go to Web Indexing> Find Batches I find the following Project series:
US, Missouri—Naturalization Records, 1843–1991 [Part A], [Part B], [Part D], [Part E]
If I go to Search> Records> Find a Collection: Collection Title
I find two collections referencing 'Missouri Nat*' (Note the dates on these collections):
1.Citing this Collection "Missouri, County Marriage, Naturalization, and Court Records, 1800-1991." Database with images. FamilySearch. https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2060668 : 11 October 2021. Missouri State Archives, Jefferson City. View Images in this Collection Browse through 2,513,517 images "...This project is being published as images and index data become available."
2.Citing this Collection "Missouri, County Naturalization Records, 1883-1927." Images. FamilySearch. https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1880587 : 20 April 2020. Clinton County Courthouse, Plattsburg. View Images in this Collection Browse through 898 images
"...Addtional records will be added to this collection as digital images become available."
From this - what can we assume - that the current Project is part of collection 1 or 2? Well I don't know -the Indexing Project is mostly complete except for [Part E] and the Indexing Project Title doesn't appear to directly correspond with these published collections - so it is difficult to assume in which collection they will ultimately reside (if I had to guess I would think collection 2 because of it's lower image count - but collection 1 has the most recent 'publication' date). Do you see the dilemma?
Conclusion: I think I could use some education from FamilySearch here on how the process works. But it seems FamilySearch is busy working the process (rightfully so) ... and Community education priority is a little lower ... either way publication notice should be included in quarterly updates from what I gather.
