Family History or affiliate library locator map and CDOL

Hi,

Yesterday I updated the information for our family history centre on CDOL. When I checked the information for our centre using the locator facility, the information had not updated several hours later. Today I checked to see if it's updated and there are no centres showing up on the locator map, even if I type the name of my centre it does not appear. Is there maintenance happening or is there something else going on? I have tried on a laptop and a tablet, the results are the same.

Thank you.

Thank you for contacting FamilySearch support, updates can take up to 24 hours for the changes to show in familysearch.Org. The support instructions explain how updates are managed. I hope I was able to answer your question.

Hi all, thanks for the responses. I can now see all of the centres on the map, but the information for my centre hasn’t updated.

Am I wrong in thinking that updating CDOL will also update my centres information tab when someone selects the centre from the locator map? If I am wrong could you please tell me how to update that information.

    thanks so much.

I would recommend updating your WIKI page also. If you go to the help center and type in WIKI you will see an article on how to update. I would also recommend joining the Tech Support Community.

To the left of this page click on Groups , in the small search box type Tech. on next page select the North America Tech Support. this will take you to the Tech support group. look at the top right for a box that says sign in, click that then click the join button. If you see none that is ok.

On this group there is a wealth of information for FHC Leads. You can submit your monthly reports, check your email. Also under quick links is Articles and tools spread sheet. I would suggest you check that out.

I hope this answers all your questions. and Thank You for contacting FamilySearch

Did you empty the FamilySearch cookies: familysearch.org/cookies ? and the computer cookies?

It may still be accessing the old version of the FHC maps cached on your computer.

    I didn't. I'll give that a try.

Actually updating CDOL or the wiki will not change the "Find a library" this is a manual process because getting GPS coordinates and adding them is manual. To change the location please send an email to [email protected] give the name of the unit and unit number if you know it from CDOL. The new location if it isn't already entered and FS will correct it.
