Bring It Back!
Please bring the old search format back. This new one is horrible. I get results for any person born in any state, in any year, etc when I perform a search. If I attempt to filter them out by setting parameters the results are the same. If I attempt to use "exact" I get nothing, nada, nil.

I agree with Deb. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I have used this site since it opened but the new search is just dreadful. Bring back the old one. Luckily I have done so much research I do not need to used this confusing one.

Absolutely agree. I want a concise display of available data. Cute I can do without.

I am really having trouble with this new format. I can you search for anything with a name and one date. You can't get anything with that, so you always need to Click on MORE OPTIONS EVERY TIME, and then the font is so THIN that the words have to be gigantic, when you click open the information that used to take up a small column, now covers several screens.
And one census preview takes an entire screen where what we used to see 5 or 6. It was so much more search friendly.
The old format was easier to read, easier to make informed decisions and the results used to give you the ones that closest matched what you asked for firs.

1000% agree - the old search interface was absolutely easier to use and understand and sift through the results presented. The ability to group the records by overarching category was EXTREMELY USEFUL. The results of this new search function doesn't enable segregating the resultant records by the overarching category - it just lists them as a single list extremely useless in sifting through results - unless, of course, you force one and only one of the category filters at a time to be listed. Sorry, but this new search UI is neither easy to use or understand and the results are not easy to sift through being all just 1 list. Yuck, Yuck, yuck

The Search user interface is HORRIBLE. Please bring back the old one. I can't find anything - how was this ever determined to be "better"?

They've ruined the search - this new format takes twice as long to refine and actually find what you're looking for. What a pain.
