Help! Two records with the same person ID
When I change one, of course it changes the other!
On my tree, there was a generation missing so I added it and although the two men/husbands are (now) different and have separate ID's, the two wives have the same number.
Is there a way to assign a new # to one of these women?
G7JT-VQQ as wife for Charles W should stay as that - there are sources tied to this - but unknown wife for Gilbert Benson Tybring I needs to be assigned a new number so her correct name and information can be added.
Is this possible?

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
FYI
The best thing for you to do is to simply "Remove" (ie. "Delete") the "Couple" Relationship between,
▬ the Son, Gilbert Benson TYBRING I ( G7JT-VQQ ); and,
▬ his Mother, Unknown ( G7JT-VQQ ),
▬ who the Wife of, Charles W. TYBRING ( G8PQ-TNY ).
And ...
As an aside ...
At this time ...
IF, you DO NOT any of the "Details" of the Spouse / Wife of Gilbert Benson TYBRING I ( G7JT-VQQ ); THEN, just leave that as "Blank",
ie.
DO NOT add, an individual/person, into "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', with the "Name" of "Unknown"; especially, if NO "Details at all are known, that is not a good practice.
Now ...
That Said ...
Question:
WHY did you make so MANY "Changes" the ORIGINAL "Name", of Christiana THUSEN ( G7JT-VQQ )?
Originally: Christiana THUSEN
Where you made the following "Changes":
(1) Unknown
(2) Mary
(3) Mary CURTIS
Finally, back to ...
(4) Unknown
The original User/Patron who "Created" the individual/person Christiana THUSEN ( G7JT-VQQ ), also appears to have "Created" the "Couple" Relationship, with the individual/person Charles W. TYBRING ( G8PQ-TNY ); and, the associated Children.
Do you believe / consider that the ORIGINAL "Name" of Christiana THUSEN for G7JT-VQQ was INCORRECT?
WHY such a drastic "Changes" to the ORIGINAL "Name" of Christiana THUSEN for G7JT-VQQ?
Do you have some form of Record (eg. Proof/Evidence) of the need for a drastic "Change" to the ORIGINAL "Name"?
Just curious?

Here is how to fix this. Start here:
In the Source Linker:
After those steps, continue:
- Attach (left) husband Chas W Tybring 1823- to (right) husband Charles W. Tybring G8PQ-TNY.
- Ignore any triangles that appear.
Return to the Details page of Unknown G7JT-VQQ and:
- Detach the husband Gilbert Benson Tybring I G7JT-B94.
- Make her given name Christianna.
- Make her birth date 1834.
- Make her Alternate Name, Married name, Christianna Tybring.
Go to the Details page of her son Gilbert B. Tybring II G7JT-6GP and:
- Merge Gilbert Benson Tybring I G7JT-B94 and Gilbert B. Tybring II G7JT-6GP.
There is more to do after this. Some sources may need to be detached. If you need more help please return to this topic.

Hi @STyb
We went to the G7JT-VQQ record and are very confused that the record began as Christiana Thusen G7JT-VQQ when it was created by another user in May of 2020. Changing the name to "Unknown" while still leaving all of the sources that show the name as Christiana may be confusing to the person who actually created this record. Perhaps it would be best to contact the person who actually created this record before leaving the name as "Unknown". The following knowledge article explains how to contact and work with other contributors.
If you are simply concerned that Christiana was attached as the wife of both Charles W Tybring and his son, Glibert, simply delete the incorrect relationship as has already been described by @Brett and @dontiknowyou , but please also restore the correct name for the G7JT-VQQ record.
A review of the sources that are attached to this record provide evidence that she is the mother of Gilbert and Adoph, and that she is the spouse of Charles.
