Read Only "Early Church Leaders" and "Immediate Family"
For ~five years now there has been a "research project involving early church leaders begins with Joseph Smith Jr. and covers leaders of the church from that point forward." (Case 06227150) Is there any date scheduled for the completion of this project?

Hi @Janell A
You have asked for specific information regarding a research project involving early Church Leaders and their families.
Perhaps the best place to ask this question is by posing the question to the support staff of the Church History Library. Please go to their Wiki page to learn more about the types of projects they have access to which include things like the Pioneer Database.
You can contact them directly through the form that is generated by clicking Ask a Librarian at the top of their Wiki page.
Regarding the records that appear in the FamilySearch Family Tree as "read only" records for early Church leaders and their families, should you have specific concerns about these individuals because you are related to them and want to help improve the information about them that is in Family Tree, you can contact FamilySearch support with any specific questions you may have as explained in the following knowledge article from the FamilySearch Help Center.
You can currently still contact FamilySearch Support in North America by phone at 1-866-406-1830 to speak with a representative directly if you have a specific question that needs to be addressed.
We hope this information is helpful. Usually, when an oncoming project has been completed, the information is made available to the public. A good example is the recent press release regarding the completion of the digitizing project for all of the films FamilySearch has created and stored for record-holders around the World.

FYI
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Please be, aware; and, advised ...
That NOT All the Users/Patrons, of "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', who are "Related" to "Early Church Leaders" and their "Immediate" Family, reside/come from "North America".
There are Many OTHER Users/Patrons, of "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', who are "Related" to "Early Church Leaders" and their "Immediate" Family, that reside/come from MANY Other Countries/Unions, all around the World.
Myself, being just one of them.
And, MANY of us CANNOT ... "contact FamilySearch Support in North America by phone" ...
We have to contact, whatever "Local" 'FamilySearch' "Support", that is available to us, by Telephone.
[ Certainly, not always that from North America ... ]

Thank you for your comments. It is true that not everyone who is related to early Church Leaders of the Church of Jesus is not living in North America, however, knowing that many individuals who may find and read this post are from the United States, I felt it appropriate to add the toll-free number for FamilySearch Support.
The Contact Us page at FamilySearch has the phone information for many parts of the World as well as other Contact information.
