Finding relationships not involving me

I would like familysearch to find a relationship between 2 people, neither of which is me. I thought changing my tree base person to one of those 2 people, and going to the other and clicking Find My Relationship would accomplish this, but it does not. Apparently, familysearch uses the logged in person as one end of the relationship. Please change this so that the logged in person is not one end of the relationship, but the designated tree root person (or base person--can't remember exactly what the text is in my profile...) is that end, and then find any relationship to the person in view when Find My Relationship is clicked. This would be a HUGE help to genealogists who have DNA matches in someplace like ancestry but no tree somewhere or no tree that has a direct link. We have DNA reporting a relationship, but no reasonable way to find it when trees are not available. The best available tree for this effort BY FAR is familysearch; this would be a GREAT change.

    @BillInPoint

    FYI

I am just another another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    As an aside ...

IF, you know the 'FamilySearch Person Identifiers" (PIDs) of the individuals/persons concerned ...

The easiest way, to find if there is a "Relationship", in 'Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', between two (2) "Deceased" individuals/person, is through one of the "Third Party" Applications, that is "Certified" to work with 'Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', rather than through 'FamilySearch'.

IF, you have NOT already; THEN, you could try ...

Can I humbly suggest that a place where you should be able to 'see' such "Relationships"; and, much more including your "Relationship" with, "Famous People"; and, many, "Others"; PLUS, you can ALSO "Print" the connections/links is through (BYU) "RelativeFinder" ...

And, it is simple, just a matter of "Signing In", with the credentials of your 'FamilySearch' Account; accepting the "Conditions"; and, the "Connection" between "FamilySearch' and (BYU) "RelativeFinder"; which, then becomes a "Partner" Account, that is "Connect" to 'FamilySearch.

(BYU) "RelativeFinder" digs (pun intended) a lot DEEPER in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', than 'FamilySearch' does.

(BYU) "RelativeFinder" is one of the "Third Party" Applications that "Certified" to work with "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.

BYU = Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah, USA (ie. the Church University).

From the "Family History Technology Laboratory", of the "Computer Science" Department.

"RelativeFinder" has MANY 'Bells and Whistles', that you might find useful.

Apart from "Famous People" and "Others" ...

(BYU) "RelativeFinder" has some interesting options ...

There is an option to see if there is a 'Connection' between yourself and a "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.

There is an option to see if there is a 'Connection' between two (x2) "Deceased" individuals/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.

There is an option to see if there is a 'Connection' between ("Living" - Users/Patrons) Friends in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.

    Magic

    Enjoy

    Good Luck

    I hope this helps.
