Dr or Blank as prefix when listed as physician?

In Us and Business Directories if someone is listed as a physician should a prefix of Dr be added in? I am reviewing a batch and in each place where someone is listed as a physician the indexer had added in Dr as a prefix. I feel I should delete these as they were not listed that way in the original record.

We don't add Prefixes that are not on the Record. So you should Blank (Ctrl+B) that Field if the Indexer added it.

That's correct, Shannon. In the case you mentioned, we would Ctrl+B (<Blank>) the husband's Surname.

From the Field Help for Spouse's Surname:

Do not assume a surname from the surnames of others mentioned in the document.

Another question, if a woman is listed as a widow and her husband's first name is given but not the surname

we should not assume his last name to have been the same?
