Are Maria Catherine Hehmeyer and Lillie Mary Hehmeyer sisters or the same person ?

Census records show 1880-1900 show Mary and 1910-1940 shows either Lillie or Lillie M. No record shows both women together. 

Maria Catherine is GHM3-Q9R and Lillie Mary is GCZL-J7H

From an Email:

 I found the death record of a Maria Catherine Hehmeyer with a death date of January 25, 1964, which means she was born in 1874. Our record books didn't go far enough back to find more info.

One of our members works for our local county Historical Society so I am going to also ask her to see if she can find anything in the county records.

My opinion is Lillie is a nick name and Marie Catherine is her real name.your opinion?

They are the same person. As you say, all census records show only one child. Also the 1900 census records her mother had one child.
