Find nicknames when searching

I received this feedback from a patron:

"Searches seem to be missing records when nicknames are used, more than in the past. "Rick" did not find "Richard" records and "Shelly" did not match a "Michelle" record. I'm not certain which might have worked in the past but the Rick one really threw me as obvious. I just mention this because about the time I'm impressed with search results, something as seemingly clear as "David J Smith" doesn't find David John Smith or vice-versa. Maybe room for improvement?"
