Adding Masonic records
I've done a quick search but I don't think this question has been asked or answered before. I am the secretary of a Masonic Lodge (English Constitution) and I routinely receive genealogy help requests from members of the public as my contact details are semi-public and my Lodge has a 175 year history. Once I have produced the information and passed it to the family, it goes back into the filing cabinet, which seems a shame. I recently found how to create a record for someone unrelated, so I can add information to FamilySearch, but it isn't obvious how to cite the Masonic records once the person record is created. Should I put it in as an affiliation? I'm happy to scan the relevant minute book or summons and add it as a source to support the addition for pre 1921 or deceased brethren. Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks.

You will need to add Custom Event or Custom Facts if the Other Information +Add Information categories are not sufficient (You can find this on the Details view for the Person):
Thank you for contributing records to FamilySearch Family Tree! I hope this helps.

Hello @Paul Nutton
What a great project you have taken on!
In addition to the custom event option already mentioned, there are a number of approaches you can take to document the lives of these unrelated people, including adding memories and creating sources. Here are some knowledges articles that might help you decide how best to proceed:
Best wishes and good luck as you work in Family Tree to provide documentation and detail for the lives of your deceased Lodge members.

Thank you Brother, this is an interesting concept. I would like to put together a "family tree" of my Lodge Masters, going back over 207 years. I have found some, but would like to put them in line as a non-related chain to give the background and history of the Lodge, but without screwing up anyone else's research. Does anyone have any thoughts on this concept?
