VIRTUAL NOTEPAD
Many people have a pad of paper out that they write information on as they do research. It would be lovely if there was a virtual notepad tool that you could have in the corner of your screen to write simple dates or names to remember as you go through your research.
A more advanced version of this tool would allow you to name and date your notes and be available for access the next time you log in.
What do you think?

I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Just in passing ...
Interesting suggested enhancement ...
But ...
That Said ...
Further to; and, in support of, what 'Julia' has already proffered ...
[ Plus, to expand upon it ... ]
The use of, the likes of, "Note Pad"; OR, ANY "Text" Editor (for LONGER "Text"), is more than acceptable ...
'FamilySearch', DOES NOT (and, I might say, SHOULD NOT), need to provide such a "Virtual Notepad" feature.
There is NO need ...
As, there are already COUNTLESS, "Note Pad" Applications; and, "Text" Editors, available, for such purpose ...
I use them, each; and, everyday, in conjunction, with 'FamilySearch' ...
Plus ...
More IMPORTANTLY, the 'Time Out' (of x20 Minutes), of inactivity STILL applies.
So, such a "Virtual Notepad" feature, would STILL be subject to (and, constrained by), that 'Time Out'.
Whereas, the likes of, "Note Pad"; OR, ANY "Text" Editor, is/are NOT subject, to that 'Time Out'.
Please be, aware; and, advised, that ...
There are MANY "Priorities", in the "Family Tree" Part (and, the OTHER Parts) of 'FamilySearch'; and, there is LIMITED "Resources" (eg. "Funds") available to 'FamilySearch'.
"FamilySearch', was created; and, is maintained, by the Church ...
'FamilySearch', is FREE to ALL ...
'FamilySearch', is NOT, a "Commercial" Website (ie. NO, Payment; or, Subscription; or, Fee, is required) ...
So ...
That Said ...
Although, useful ...
I am sorry ...
I CANNOT support your suggested enhancement, of 'FamilySearch', creating (or, utilizing) a "Virtual Notepad".
[ ie. For use WITHIN 'FamilySearch' ... ]
Especially, at the expense, of ALL, the more IMPOTANT "Priorities" ...
Just my thoughts.
I know, that this certainly does not help/assist; but, I hope, that this may provide you with, some additional, insight; and, perspective
Brett
