I am indexing obituaries and within a batch their is a newspaper marriage announcement. Should the names listed in this marriage announcement by indexed within the obituary batch?

It is always best to provide the batch code so you can the most accurate answer. To "share a batch" you need to provide the letters and numbers that are in the brackets after the project title. For example:

    US, Oklahoma—Obituaries, 1963–1986[M3D5-R9S]

But, you are only going to index the deceased and all the other people in an obituary for this project. There is no way to index a marriage announcement.

If it is only a marriage announcement on the image and there are no obituaries to index, then you would mark the image No, No Extractable Data. If there are obituaries, then index those and ignore the marriage announcement.

    • Index all obituaries, death notices, and funeral programs.
    • Mark all other images, including marriage, anniversary, and birthday newspaper announcements, and reunion notices, in Step 1: Images as No, No Extractable Data.
