Attention: @Mark McLemore
Subject: Possible, Fault/Flaw: HOW can a 'Question', be considered to be "Unanswered"; when, in fact, that 'Question' has FOUR (x4) 'Comments'/'Answers'?
I am curious ...
Is this a possible Fault/Flaw? ...
Or, is this by 'Design' ...
A 'Question', that was posted, in the "Q and A" Section, under the 'Category' of "Search", in the Forum, has some FOUR (x4) 'Comments' (or, 'Answers').
Yet, that particular 'Question', appears, in the Forum, in the "Quick Links", under "Unanswered".
Question: HOW can a 'Question', be considered to be "Unanswered"; when, in fact, that 'Question' has some FOUR (x4) 'Comments'/'Answers'?
I have a possible 'Theory' ...
Further Question: Is that BECAUSE, that none of those FOUR (x4) 'Comments'/'Answers', has been selected; as, an "Accepted Answer" (or, "Best Answer")?
[ I know, that it has NOTHING to do with, NO 'Comment'/'Answer'; being, that of a "Moderator" [ ie. 'FamilySearch' "Support" (Personell) ]; as, one ALREADY is ... ]
Just curious ...
'Thank You' in advance.
Submitted for your, information; attention; and, consideration.
Kind Regards.

Brett

Hi @Brett .,
Questions are considered unanswered until they receive one response. They are also considered unanswered if all the answer(s) have been rejected.
Best,
Mark

'Thank You' for responding.
But, your response raises even more 'Confusion' ...
In response to your 'Comment' ...
FIRSTLY ...
BOTH, the aforementioned 'Questions' DID have MORE than One response.
[ But, as such, your second 'Answer' comes to the fore ... ]
SECONDLY ...
In relation to: They are also considered unanswered if all the answer(s) have been rejected.
Question: Really, HOW can we tell, if ALL 'Comments' (ie. "Answers') have been "Rejected"?
Apart from the perspective of the User/Patron who raised the ORIGINAL 'Question' (who gets to 'see' the "YES's"/"NO's"), the ONLY other place that I know that we (ie. the rest of us) can 'see' that 'Comments' (ie. "Answers') have been "Rejected", is by doing a "Search", in the Forum, for a particular 'Comment' (ie. "Answer').
Now ...
That Said ...
I just did a "Search" in the Forum for the aforementioned 'Questions' ...
[ 1 ] Download results from exact searches
Not ONLY were All 'Comments' (ie. "Answers') "Rejected"; BUT, the 'Question' itself, was "Rejected".
Question: HOW can a WHOLE 'Question' get "Rejected"?
I hardly think that a Participant would "Reject" their OWN 'Question" - "Delete" maybe; but, NOT "Reject"!!!???
WHO has the ability to "Reject" a WHOLE 'Question'!!!???
"Rejected" "Comments', ALL Four (x4)
"Rejected" WHOLE 'Question'
[ Now this is ODD ... ]
That makes NO sense ...

And ...
The "images" relating to this 'Question' are EXACTLY the SAME as [ 1 ] above!!!???
Now ...
All That Said ...
FOUR (x4) problems/issues of concern here ...
(1) WHY is it, that the "Responder", to a 'Question', is NOT "Notified", in their particular 'Comment' (ie. 'Answer'), that their particular 'Comment' (ie. 'Answer') was "Rejected" (and, "Rejected" by WHOM)!!!???
(2) WHY is it, that the 'Comments' (ie. 'Answers') that have been "Rejected", DO NOT indicate that rejection in the 'Question' itself!!!??? [ WHY do we have to go 'looking' for them (ie. that "Rejection") !!!??? ]
(3) Apart from the User/Patron, who raised the ORIGINAL 'Question', WHO else has the ABILITY to "Reject" a 'Comment' (ie. 'Answer'), in a 'Question'!!!??? [ Of course, EXCLUDING "Admin" ]
(4) WHO has the ability to "Reject" a WHOLE 'Question'!!!??? [ Of course, EXCLUDING "Admin" ]
In fact, the WHOLE matter of 'Comments' (ie. 'Answers') that have been "Rejected" is NOW really of concern.
As, I suggested, your response raises even more 'Confusion' ...
I am sorry to be a 'nuisance' ...
But, can you please enlighten me further ... in relation to my concern ...
'Thank You' in advance.
