RootsMagic is a third party program that can be installed on a FHC computer. Below is the URL that the Center Consultant (director) can access through the Administrator login. This is a function with permissions that a Center Consultant has. https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/third-party-software-available-to-family-history-centers

The steps to add RootsMagic and others are given in the above URL. What version of RM is accessibe in a FHC is what RM and the others offer to the Family History Department.

RM and others are there to use. The guest needs to use a flashdrive to remove data found. No personal information must be left on a FHC computer. RM has a feature for using their program without leaving it on another computer.

The Family History Department does not troubleshoot RM or others. This is a courtesy offered to our guests.

Rootsmagic is one the the approved applications for FHCs. The FHC_Application_Finder may be used to install the latest full versions for that application at no cost to the FHC. Just one of the perks available at FHC.

Roots magic is software for your home computer so if you want that program at home you would need to purchase that software. It is a 3rd party company and not a product of FamilySearch. Having the Rootsmagic essentials program in a Family History center can be used for demonstration or if you use the Rootsmagic to go program but you should not be saving your Rootsmagic database on Family history center computer.

That answers part of my question. Patrons want to move familysearch information from in their accounts to RootsMagic in their accounts. They wouldn't download to the Family History Center's Computers.

    Cindy thanks for your help

The FHC versions of RootsMagic are full versions.

The best way to use it in a FHC,if you are bringing your data from home, is with "RootsMagic to Go," which a leader in the FHC can download. As a patron you bring your RM files to the center on your thumbdrive, use, and resave to the thumbdrive.

There are many videos on RootsMagic.com and YouTube about "RootsMagic to Go."
