Do I index "indexes and reverse indexes of marriages"

My batch consists of an index of marriages alphabetized by groom's last name. The only information recorded is groom's first and last names, bride's first and last names, and the page in the marriage register where the marriage license is found. This is followed by a reverse index with the same information but alphabetized by bride's last name. So, each marriage has two entries, one alphabetized by groom and another alphabetized by bride, although the entries are not necessarily on the same page.

  • My question is do I even index this "index information". Project instructions say, "Indexes with just pages numbers should be marked as No Extractable Data."

If I do index this batch, how do I handle the reverse index which is essentially duplicate information. Thanks.

The Project Instructions seems to suggest that if it is a Primary (emphasis on Primary) marriage record we index those. Also, it states that Indexes with just pages numbers should be marked as No Extractable Data. So, I would think mark it as No Extractable data.

When you are on the page that needs to be marked "No Extractable Data", look just under the toolbar and you will see "Step 2: Entries", there is a down arrow next to it, click on the down arror. You will see two choices, select "Step 1 Images, there will probably be in the box "Yes", there is a down arrow next to it, click it and there will be some choices, select "No, No Extractble Data".

Teresa, I do have one question though. I don't know how to mark an image as "No Extractable Data."

Could you walk me through this process, please?
