Indexing - middle initial

Is a period put after a middle initial? W or W.

Project instructions don't specify and examples don't have names with a middle initial.

Thanks, John

It would be helpful if you would provide the Indexing Batch number. It is found at the end of the title of the Project and is listed in Brackets starting with the letter M.

However I did look in the General Indexing Guidelines, which did not address the issue either. I tried looking up punctuation in the Help Center, but it wasn't addressed either. I would leave the period off if I were indexing this batch.

If there is just one middle initial, ex: John M, I dont put a period because there is only one letter there. If there are two middle initials, ex: John M. J. , then I put periods to seperate them. Also because personally, John M. J. looks better than John M J . Hope this helps.
