Community Flags in addition to FamilySearch/Moderator flags
Disclaimer: I have not researched all the flag definitions or how they are currently to be used.
It would be nice to have additional Community flags that might be different than Moderator flags.
Currently flag options are:
Spam, Abuse, Report
Spam (as far as I am aware): blatant advertising or redirecting to non-related sources/topic. How to handle Discussion forks is more nuanced and beyond moderator separation has no 'Community' solution - except perhaps private mailing the party...
Abuse: redirecting to inappropriate sources or complaint about a user's response including inappropriate 'verbiage'
Report: No clue here - what are we reporting?
Request: There is a difference - as evident in the current Community discussion about recent Search> Records changes - between constructive and non-constructive feedback. Stating 'Search is ____! Change it back!' is a request that does nothing constructive to the current Search - which all Community members must work in/build upon. By implication it does request a different interface and for Search Results to revert to previous behavior - but does nothing constructive per se - here is my example of a constructive suggestion that does exactly this. Having the option to flag a post constructive or not and remove non-constructive posts could be advantageous to those pursuing a constructive approach. Of course this would bring up complaints about 'not being heard' - which could simply be addressed by referring them to a constructive approach.
Question: Is it proper therefore to Report posts that are not constructive?
I hope this idea is constructive.

I am only a volunteer,
I think the basis of your idea is fundamentally sound. I give it an upvote. I think the idea exemplifies a problem with the "Ideas" forum, in as much as it is presented as an "Ideas" forum but actually is more complex. @Caleb L sets out what is supposed to be contributed, and that includes "Comment on other people's ideas" Inevitably, that will create a snowball.
It might be more useful to have a clear and distinct separation between "Help", "Bug reporting" and "Annoyances". I would certainly welcome a public focal point for bug reporting so that the problem reports are not duplicated.
The current format of the Community contribution is not well-suited for negative feedback, and I believe that has become a significant thorn in the side recently. Quite frankly, there will always be some negative feedback, but when it occurs as it is at its current volume, it is a problem that needs to be addressed not by altering the only channel that the community has access to, but rather by responding through that channel in a positive way.
Yes, I think better flag options are a good idea.
I also think that the Ideas forum needs to be treated as a sensor to measure the mood of the community.

FYI
In relation yo your 'Question': Is it proper therefore to Report posts that are not constructive?
Just my thoughts ...
That word 'Constructive', can be considered, somewhat 'nebulous'.
'Feedback' is NOT always "Positive".
"Negative" 'Feedback' CAN be constructive.
NOT 'Everyone' is 'articulate'.
We are NOT all well 'Educated'.
People express themselves in different ways.
As long as a person's 'Feedback' is NOT downright "Abusive" ...
Then, we should allow ALL People to express themselves; as, they do.
There is NO need, to REPORT 'Feedback', that one personally FEELS, is not constructive.
[ As, of course, there may certainly be OTHERS that disagree with one ... ]
Now ...
That Said ...
IF, one one personally FEELS, that particular 'Feedback', is not constructive; THEN, one certainly has the OPTION, to 'offer' a counter viewpoint.
It is really a matter of NOT allowing one's 'Comments' to be "Abusive".
EVERYONE, should; and, has the 'right' to, be 'heard' ... as long as they are NOT downright "Abusive".
'Feedback' CAN be BOTH, "Positive"; and, "Negative"; and, either, CAN be 'Constructive'.
Just because one DOES NOT agree with particular 'Feedback' (eg. a point of view), does not mean that such is not constructive.
We need to allow People to express themselves, despite the fact that we personally may not like such.
So ...
That Said ...
In answer to your 'Question' ...
One does not need to report posts/'Comments', that one personally feels are not constructive; but, one can certainly 'offer' a counter viewpoint, if so one desires; as, we already have that option.
Again, just my thoughts.

Ok. I guess we'll have to keep sorting through the contents/responses manually...
I was just trying to get some negative responses to include some reasoning...
I don't know that I'm 'articulate' ...
Thanks cuz

Hey, Cuz
I know, that I am NOT 'articulate' ...
I am VERY 'Verbose' ...
That is my "Style' ...
Some like it; whereas, some (certainly) do not like it ...
Each to their own ...

ps: Plus, NOT Everyone has either, the 'Time'; and/or, can find the right words, to express themselves.

Or not everyone has the time - at the right time - to find the right words before something of greater priority takes up their time. Or searching/ browsing Familysearch Community takes too much time - so I'll just post what I'm thinking at the time.
Thanks Gandalf - good morning ....

ps: I prefer 'Albus Dumbledore' ... although, 'Gandalf' will do ...

Report: No clue here - what are we reporting?
I use the Report button when:
- Someone has posted sensitive information (Helper Number, phone number, email address).
- I want to communicate in private to whichever moderator is on duty.
- The topic needs to be moved.
