Can we return the Search Criteria box to the Left side?
I am limiting this comment to this one single feature request
Can we move the search criteria box to the Left side? The same place it has been on FSFT for years as well as where it is on Ancestry and other partner sites.

There are many other 'Search' threads going on ...
I think this idea would be moved to the Ideas> Records (Searching and Viewing) category where its request is being made multiple times. Perhaps a moderator will move it...

@genthusiast , yep, well aware this is much requested and maybe should/could be posted elsewhere. I’m just trying to separate out into one single (and I think) non-controversial issue to see if we can determine to what extent anyone is listening to the great number of responses to the new UI. It just seems like this could be an easy fix or a quick easy answer as to what was the thinking about this change and why it was decided to move the search criteria to the Right.

I agree with you - by the way - the option to move Search Parameters and Preferences to the left or top (as others have suggested) would be a nice way to 'resolve' this specific request. I don't know how easily allowing this setting option would be programmatically ... some appear to like it on the right...
I think moving Parameters to the top would definitely help in the Results real estate issue - nothing crowding the sides. However the current functioning of allowing Parameters to be closed does the same thing...
