Indexing accuracy
I've just started indexing. I searched around looking for an answer before posting here. I hope it's not looking at me in the face!!
Question: will I receive feedback on the accuracy of my indexing? Like maybe a percent of accuracy? Also, I would not expect a direct contact for a few typos; but, if I'm making a serious error over and over, will I be contacted? Thanks.

Short answer: NO - you will not be contacted with percent accuracy type feedback.
The only type of feedback you might receive - according to what I understand - is whether you need 'instruction' about how the Project Instructions should be interpreted. If you are doing a good job indexing - you won't receive much feedback (that's what I perceive).

You will not receive feedback on your indexing, or a percentage of accuracy. Since they began the web-indexing program, that process has been eliminated. Every batch is indexed and then goes on to a review process where another volunteer picks it up and reviews the work. If that reviewer changes 20% or more of the index it moves on to a second review. This can happen three times and then it goes to FamilySearch for a final review.
There is an experimental feature in labs that reviewers can use to tell familysearch why they are returning a batch for reindexing and hopefully get indexers and reviewers extra help if need be. You can see an example of the form. With a batch open, click on the Help Tab and Labs. To become a reviewer one must index 1000 entries. (Not 1000 batches, just 1000 records).
You can always share your batch on this page when you have questions or if you just want someone to review it and let you know how you are doing. If you are a member of the Church, I understand there are folks in the wards and stakes that help new indexers.

Many years ago, indexers could see the the results of the arbitration (now called reviewing) of their indexing. They also showed you the percentage accuracy of your work. This no longer happens. There is also no way for reviewers to give feedback to indexers.

This is not entirely correct - though I am unsure about the obscurity - the Indexer is tracked.

There is a 'Say thank you' button - obviously if it is thanking the indexer - they are tracked.

The reviewers do not know who did the indexing, but FamilySearch knows who does the indexing since everyone has a unique identifier. FamilySearch can certainly reach out when they need to provide some extra help to an indexer or a reviewer, or remove reviewing rights if there are a lot of errors being made.
P.S. It is wonderful to get those thank you notes that genthusiast pointed out, It really does warm your heart when they show up in your messages!

The indexer's name is not attached to any batch submitted. The reviewers have no way of knowing who did the indexing so no feedback can come back to an individual indexer. If you are unsure of your accuracy, ask the Family History specialist in your ward to review your work before submitting. And thanks for being concerned enough about accuracy to raise the question!
