New Interface is Not an Improvement
My first reaction to the new interface today was that FamilySearch ruined it.
After a couple hours and reading some of Casey's posts, I merely dislike it. I am slowly learning about more options and having to push a slider to get the exact boxes back that were always there. I am belwildered why FamilySearch thinks that asking users to click or slide or whatever more than they used to to do what they used to is an enhancement.
I will get used to it because you've made clear the changes are not going away. I hope as I get familiar with it I can make some suggestions to make it even better.
I cannot now imagine I will ever not yearn for the old interface, but time heals a lot.

I totally agree. This new enhancement is no enhancement at all. It makes searching more tedious and time consuming. As an example, when one clicks on a search result and the side window opens, once it is closed, ones place in the search results page is lost - never mind that the entry turns red, one needs to review the list to find the last record searched. Also, if one wants to view the actual document, it opens on the same tab. That is not a good idea as well. I have been using familysearch for years and I find that each new enhacement has made usage more cumbersome and difficult. Do you test your new versions on actual users before releasing them? Years ago, one could pull a list of results which immediately provided all the information without having to click anything else to view the results, i.e., a birth record, provided the DOB and city at first glance - Now, nothing. Also, though I always have found problems with the indexing of the records, I don't see a place on this new version where one can fix any issues found. This new enhancement is not a step in the right direction.
