Grace ID 9JRV-3NX has one source document attached which has a link to view the image. It is The England, Norfolk, Parish Registers Morningthorpe Baptisms, Marriages, Burials 1557-1738. I personally viewed this image several months ago. Today it is no longer viewable. Where did it go?

    It appears that someone detached that source on Oct 2. Here's what they said as their reason for doing so. It appears that you have now re-added the source back in today, so hopefully everything is now OK. (See "Latest Changes" and "Show All" to see the history.)

    Source Title

    England, Norfolk Parish Registers Morningthorpe Baptisms, Marriages, Burials 1557-1738, Grace Bridgham (1629)

    LESS

    Reason This Information Is Correct

    This is the burial record of Grace Bridgham

    Document is not viewable. Says "This image is unavailable for online viewing at this time." and has said the same thing for months before being recently deleted and added back again.

    I also cannot see the image. I get "This image is unavailable for online viewing at this time."

    @Stephen A. Draper

    I refer to the Norfolk collections quite regularly, so can confirm the records of some parishes are no longer viewable. The general issue has been discussed before and the conclusion reached that there could be a number of factors involved. To name just a few:

    (1) Authorisation to display records online can reach down as far as the parish itself, which would explain why this issue only affects some Norfolk parishes.

    (2) The images are available on other websites, including Find My Past. It is possible that FMP now has a contract with the Norfolk Record Office (paying them for the privilege of putting images online) so are able to restrict FamilySearch to just being able to publish a certain percentage of the whole collection.

    (3) There has been an update to the collection, which has led to some of the records being inadvertently excluded.

    On the last point, I noticed an "Update to FamilySearch collections" article (in the Blog section, a few months back) claimed there had been xxx,xxx "new" records added to the Norfolk PR collection. On examination, these "new" records appeared to apply to ones that had previously been visible in FamilySearch, then disappeared for a while, but had now become available for viewing again!

    As FamilySearch has a policy of never speculating about the specific reasons applicable to each collection (commercial sensitivity factors, etc.) we will likely never know what is going on here, but just hope that perhaps "out of the blue" the ability to view these images will reappear as fast as it disappeared!
