Problem when adding a new person to Family Search through Legacy
I attempted to add the marriage of my Great niece.
I added her spouses name as a new person successfully in Legacy and
I only knew his birth month and day so far in my research but not his birth year. This is the Source of the Problem
I connected to my niece in Family Search through Legacy and see him there. It also generated a new Family Search ID number successfully.
But when I attempt to use the arrow to add him as her spouse a (red colored font) phrase of some sort could
be seen for a fraction of a second and I have no idea what it says.and the Family Search side adds no new data. (Maybe the program needs to stop there so it can be
read?) I then went to my great niece's person data page, in Family Search, but there is no spouse listed.
I attempted to add a spouse on the data page but It says 'Save failed. You are trying to create a relationship between a living person and a
deceased person who died more than 150 years ago'. I finally determined that the spouse was listed as being born in the year 00, Thus over 150 years.
Example: Legacy has 20 AUG as the birth date. After sending its data to Family Search and looking at /tree/person/details/XXXX-XXX page
it shows the date as August 0020. But under the Vitals drop down it says - 20 August. Clicking on 'Edit" there, it shows in the 'Date of Birth' box to be '20 August'. But in
the 'Standardized Event Date' box it shows - August 0020. Clicking on the drop down arrow of the Standardized Event box the choices are August 0020, August 1820,
August 1920, August 2020, or 'None of the Above'. I corrected it by selecting "None of the Above. then going back to the 'share Data ' tab on the 'My Legacy Person' /
'Family Search Person' split screen and then the Legacy add spouse arrow worked properly.
It seemes the fix needs to be how Family Search deals with bringing over the data to the Standardized Event box.
For a person who is far enough removed from me it may take a while or I may never be able to learn that information. It is easy to find a birthday through
social media but not necessarily the year due to personal information security. Therefore to not encourage people who are less concerned about accuracy
to be able to have what data they really know or can prove would be best.
