Why change the Search function just because you can? - Terrible!
I pay for Ancestry but my first-stop search choice was always FamilySearch for its far superior search function.
Example just recently an Ancestor from Kent with links to other Ancestry members were all at a dead-end after 1841 Census but I found him straight away in FamilySearch, moved to London by the 1851 Census so was able to track him to his death. I STILL cannot find that 1851 Census in Ancestry no matter how hard I try.
Tried the new FamilySearch function but now, don't even want to look at it, have even removed it from my Bookmarks as it's now just a waste of space

You've nailed it ! Occam's Razor. How much is acnersty losing in revenue because ordinary people can work for free on a database that has some of the best data ever collected, added to by people who give their time out of the goodness of their hearts, and being indexed and collated by dedicated enthusisats. If there's some way to stop that happening . . . . .

How absolutely terrible is that search function! I have used familysearch forever as I am a veteran of over 35 years of genealogy research. Now you can not give specifics to a name search and the collection search is impossible to use with no necessary parameters. Absolutely terrible, I will and can not use familysearch anymore.

I see some are actually using pen and paper to record searches before hitting return to fetch more. Which of course sends me back to the start! What's a Quad to do? Lol
