Please make this film available online.
Registri ecclesiastici di Linguaglossa (Catania), 1539-1928
Battesimi 1908-1928 -- Matrimoni 1539-1628, 1619-1665, 1649-1713, 1697-1776, 1757-1838
Film 1800293
DGS 7958337
Not having access to the records from 1539 to 1838 when all the other films for this church are online and available seems like a decision based on one newer book attached to a particular film roll. Can the "Battesimi 1908-1928" book be removed from this DGS to make the rest available online.
Kind Regards,
Rocco

I will try reaching out to the Diocesi di Acireale. Thank you for the suggestion.
Hopefully over time more civil and church records will become available. So great doing this from home.
Whilst I enjoy scrolling through microfilm, the convenience of digital records has made research so much easier.
Thanks again and have a great day.
Kind Regards,
Rocco

This statement is found on the catalog search results for this collection.
Reasons why microfilms may not yet be available digitally on FamilySearch.org include:
- The microfilm may have been scanned, but have a contractual, data privacy, or other restriction preventing access. FamilySearch makes every effort to enable access dependent on decisions of record custodians and applicable laws.
I do not understand why one part of the collection is not available when all the rest are available except that perhaps it was acquired at a different time than the others in the collection. The record custodians determine how we can make the records available. If FamilySearch had their way, all records would be available online for free. However, when we acquire a record, the owners (record custodians) determine what we can make available. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

@roccon1000 sorry for what you are facing. I know how bad it feels when you are really in need of a record. Sometimes due to contractual agreement, FamilySearch is not able to make some records available online for viewing. You may try and visit a Local Family History Center/Library and try, you may be able to view the record. Kindly go through the article below for options on how to view such record.

Yes, when in the middle of solving a puzzle and linking a family together and you find a record missing, damaged or unavailable, it can certainly slow things down. It's always great going back over the work done and adding more info in as more info becomes available. Thank you for reaching out and have a great day. 😀

The policy at FamilySearch has not changed in regard to making available only the records that our contractual agreements allow us to share online.
The baptismal records for the years 1908-1928 could contain information about living people so it is not surprising that since these records are included on DGS 7958337 the can only be viewed in the microfilm format in the Family History Library in Salt Lake.
Have you tried to contact the Catholic diocese per the film notes directly? [Microfilm dei registri originali nell'Archivio delle Diocesi di Acireale]
Since they own the records and also have copies of any digital records that were created, they may be more willing to make the records available online, however, since FamilySearch cannot alter the agreements but do our best to maintain good relationships with record owners so that we can continue to make other records available, we hope you will understand that we cannot help beyond what is posted in the catalog. Perhaps you can contact someone through Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness as described in the following article to have someone go to the Family History Library to search in the film for the information you are interested in finding.
We certainly understand your frustration and wish you success in your continued research.
