HELP, my idea has disappeared !
I created an idea, which at the time I thought was helpful and practical. Not very long after, I began to discover that it wasn't. I edited the original idea to add Postems, describing the issues I was having, a bit like a bug report, keeping a placeholder for the problems in a public place so that others could see. After my last edit, the idea went blank and a note appeared saying my edit was subject to approval. Now the entire thing has gone. It's not in the ideas list, and when I try to use the history list to go to the original URL, I get a screen showing

The page you were looking for could not be found.
The original URL was https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/103929/new-search-gui-quick-interim-fix-please
Nobody gave me any kind of feedback to tell me why it needed approval, and I have no notifications. Was it just a fault ? If not, then can I have an explanation, please.

I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Just in passing ...
Take a 'look' in your 'Drafts' ...
Select your 'Profile' ...
The, select "Drafts" ...
You may get 'lucky', sometimes, a 'Copy' may have been 'Saved' in one's 'Drafts', where it can be resurrected.
Certainly, not always; but, sometimes ...
Thanks I'll take a look.
Nope: Drafts is empty.0

This is a fairly commonly reported problem. I just make sure I copy the text before posting - especially following an edit, which seems to be the most common time for your comments to completely vanish.
The solution applies generally to losing any text on this website: if you are typing a lengthy message or Life Sketch in Family Tree, for example, you are likely to lose everything if you don't copy into (say) Word, then paste into FamilySearch / FS Family Tree when you have finalised your piece.0
As Paul said, this forum doesn't like us editing our posts. It really, really doesn't like us editing our posts with images. I haven't figured out exactly what triggers the "approval" message, but I have concluded that the message is false: what it actually should say is that your post has been permanently lost.0
I would normally keep a text editor window open when I'm typing anything big, but this was an already posted item that I was just editting. I mistakenly presumed it was stable. From what you say, it seems like it's a bug in the forum application, or the forum moderators are trigger happy if they see something other than plain vanilla.0
Yep. This may be the same problem I reported previously. Your comment may come back days later. There does not seem to be any actual approval process.0
It seems that the answer has been adequately provided in the thread below..
