In the "Death" Field It is Too Easy to Mark a Person Deceased
Could FamilySearch require more information in the death field? As it stands right now, all a person has to do is mark an individual deceased. No date is required. No explanation is required. If the date isn't known, there should at least be a reason for knowing that that person has passed.
I am having a terrible time "resurrecting" my dear and very alive husband. He was marked deceased. I have contacted FS almost two weeks ago and he is still shown as living with his information available for the world to see.
I know that FamilySearch is very concerned about privacy, but there appears to be a glitch in the system.
Thanks

I wonder if you have tried to contact the person who marked that ID as deceased? There is usually a warning when one is adding an individual to Family Tree who is under 110 years old. However, the required "reason statement" is easily circumvented by merely adding a period (.) to that field.
If this is a record that was added some time back, maybe there was no warning prompt at that time and someone chose a "default" status of "deceased" unintentionally. If the record includes an actual date of death, this possibly relates to mistaken identity of your husband, with another individual of similar identity.

It has finally been fixed by FS. The one who marked it could not fix it. Very weird. All the normal rules did not apply.
