I am literally going to cry at the changes in the format to search.

I feel your pain. Why do they mess with things that work just fine? I don’t even want to work on here anymore.

What is with all this whitespace ?

And while they're chucking in a load of changes that nobody asked for, why not move all the input fields to a completely different position. And then change them again when the user wants to change the preferences. Oh yeah, and reduce the amount of actual data that gets presented so the user can't tell which is a candidate result without having to click on something to view more data with even more wasteage of screen space.

I'm developing the conspiracy theory that the techs have been infiltrated by agents from Acnestry with the brief to screw up as much as possible.

The old search was much better at displaying information, give me the option to use the old search if you insist on keeping the new format! If you want to improve the search, then allow me to search on a specific birthdate (year, month and day) instead of just the year.

What happened? These new formats are very difficult to use. Please provide an option to use the old formats. For both the input search criteria and the display of the results. Thanks. This is the worst it has been in 20 years. Peace, Jim

I agree with all the above comments. The new format is terrible. Please bring back the previous format!!

Your "new & improved" search format falls short of the old and original. I don't find the new format difficult, but I do find it incomplete as to the search criteria entered. An option to use either will tell you how much members do NOT LIKE your new format. Please return to the old format and cut your losses.

I think I want to cry too. I've been doing family history research for almost ten years and for most of that time I've spent at least ten hours a week looking for family. I'm pretty comfortable looking for records online. However, I am very frustrated with the changes that have been made and now rarely use this website to look for records - when I do I RARELY can find what I need. I hope that you return to the old format as well and then please leave it alone- no need for future "updates".

Have used this site consistently for several years due to ease of use and information available. New format is not user friendly and terrible. It was perfect the way it was. Data doesn't seem to consistently pull up by criteria entered. This may be the change that drives me to give up genealogy. Just don't have time to be this frustrated.

I waited a while before deciding about this new format. Most of us in the research field don't like change because we are focused on finding something and a new learning curve slows us down. That said, I can now say with a great deal of fervor that the search results in this new format is very disappointing. I struggle to get any results and frankly, do not understand why it was even changed - it worked just fine! It almost seems like your web team had too much time on their hands and needed something to do.
