Sandboxed FamilyTree
It might be helpful to have a 'test' environment where features/relationships can be seen without making changes in the live production version. This would be helpful in answering some Community questions. Perhaps a FamilyTree Overview like the Web Indexing Overview? Perhaps these resources are already available internally but if the Community had access then that might help.

FYI
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Just in case you were not aware ...
There ALREADY is a "Beta" (ie. "Test") Environment for 'FamilySearch', for any User/Patron to use.
[ Which has been around for a number of Years now ... ]
BETA FamilySearch
https://beta.familysearch.org/
A User/Patron simply "Signs In' with their 'FamilySearch' Credentials.
The "Beta" (ie. "Test") Environment for 'FamilySearch' has the same functionality as "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment, with the ADDITION of, NEW "Features"; and/ or, CHANGED "Features"; BEFORE, they go into the "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment.
The "Beta" (ie. "Test") Environment for 'FamilySearch' is periodically 'purged'; and, updated with current 'Data' from the "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment.
So, that which a User/Patron "Tests" (ie. the 'Data' that is 'Played' around with) in "Beta" (ie. "Test") Environment for 'FamilySearch', is not always available or retained.
And, that which is "Tested" (ie. the 'Data' that is 'Played' around with) in the "Beta" (ie. "Test") Environment for 'FamilySearch' DOES NOT get transferred to the "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment.
Here is a "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch':
How do I use the beta version of FamilySearch?
I hope this helps.

FYI
Please be aware that you CANNOT have BOTH, the "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment; and, the "Beta" (ie. "Test") Environment, "Open", at the SAME time (ie. simultaneously), in the SAME "Browser", it has to be one or the other.
IF, you initially have the "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment "Open" in a particular "Browser"; and, "Open" the "Beta" (ie. "Test") Environment in the same "Browser"; THEN, you will be automatically "Signed Out" of 'FamilySearch' in the "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment; whereby, when you "Reopen" the "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment AGAIN in the same "Browser" you will be required to "Sign In" again; and, consequently, you will be automatically "Signed Out" of 'FamilySearch' in "Beta" (ie. "Test") Environment.
But ...
That Said ...
Do not despair ...
You CAN have BOTH, the "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment; and, the "Beta" (ie. "Test") Environment, "Open" at the SAME time (ie. simultaneously), in DIFFERENT "Browsers".
For example:
(1) "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment, "Open", in 'Google' "Chrome"; and,
(2) "Beta" (ie. "Test") Environment, "Open", "Open", 'Mozilla' "FireFox"
Or, whatever combination of "Browsers" that one prefers.
That works just fine.
I just thought that I would pass that on.
You live and learn from experience ...
