What if a widow is still listing her husband (Declare of Intention) who's been dead over 10 years?

There is no instruction that I know of that directly addresses this issue. There is nothing that says NOT to index deceased spouses and we know that information will be helpful to family researchers.

Yes, we index the spouses name, whether they are deceased or divorced doesn't matter. We index the spouses Birthdate on naturalizations, not year of death.

Do you have a shared batch code? It is easiest to copy the project name at the top and be sure to include the code in brackets at the end. We can give you more accurate answers if we can look at the document.

Sorry, I processed it thru. I was reviewing the batches from U.S. New York Naturalization Records 1880-1991 (Part E).
I actually came across about 8 who listed their deceased spouses. They note they are widows/widowers & some give the death date. I determined to leave the spouse's name & YOD as indexed.
Perhaps this would be something to add to instructions? I didn't find any reference even in the general instructions.
Thank you,

Thank you. They did list the birth year; forgot to mention that. That is the date that was used, so it was correct.
Thank you for your help!
