How do you retrieve a batch that has expired?

My wife was indexing some marriage records the other day. But, she didn't have time to finish the batch. Today she went back in to finish it and she had a message that the batch was expired. How do you reopen an expired batch?

If you have the batch ID, you can retrieve the batch. To Retrieve a Batch:

1, Next to "My Batches" there is a symbol that looks like a wheel or asterick, click it

2.When the window opens, Select "Open Shared Batch", when the window opens, enter 8 digit batch number, the open buttton will highlight, click it and it will open the batch, so you can index it.

If you do not have the batch ID, you will not be able to access it. The indexing work that your wife did was saved and someone else that gets the batch will check her work and finish indexing the batch and submit it.

When a batch has expired, there is no way to retrieve it. It will go to someone else to be completed.

What Tom123 is referring to is the Shared batch code to look at a particular batch. If the batch has not been reviewed and submitted you can LOOK at it that way but you cannot change anything from how it was when submitted. If you found another batch in the same project to review you might defy the odds and get the same one back but t hat is highly unlikely.

It is best to just put it in the past and move on.

Why isn't Indexing on daylight savings time? My batch was scheduled to expire today; I assumed per usual at 5:00 p.m. Mountain Daylight Savings Time. However, it expired at 3:04 Pacific Daylight Savings Time for me in California. Now someone else gets the credit for my 387 entries on this document. Totally unfair on several levels!!!

    Suggestions:

    1) How about updating your time so it is correct?

    2) How about restoring my batch to me?

    3) How about a notice to the indexer "Your batch will expire in 10 minutes."

Indexing works on GMT time. Depending on where you are in the world, your batch will most likely not expire at midnight.

Hawaii is GMT-10, which means our deadline is at 2 pm. California is GMT-7, which means your deadline is 5 pm. Go to https://greenwichmeantime.com for your GMT time.
