I have uploaded the certified birth record for Sarah "Cis" Elizabeth Simpson, my great grandmother, and need to know how to change the setting that says that the person cannot be sealed to her parents until the parents are linked to the daughter. Thank you.

    Hi, @christelyvonnekatarinaswasey1

I found your great-grandmother's record in Family Tree:

    Sarah "Cis" Elizabeth Simpson

    2 May 1886 – 26 December 1967 • K64Z-1MN

I believe the issue you see with the sealing to parents will be resolved when you "fix" the problem with Sarah having more than one set of parents.

In the Family Members sections you will see that Sarah is the daughter of John Andrew Simpson KJ53-P5G and Mary Ellen Gough L7G2-YBZ. She is also shown as a single child of Mary Ellen Gough L7G2-YBZ, who has no spouse. This is an example of a duplicate parent-child relationship. All you need to do is click on the Edit icon next to Sarah's name under just the mother's name. Then, click Remove/Replace next to Mary Ellen Gough's name. You are going to Remove her; the reason being "Duplicate parent-child relationship."

Once you have removed the duplicate relationship there should be no other sealing to parents option available.

Let us know if this resolves the problem.

    Best wishes!
