Deleted marriage that was not deleted.

Anna Mary Dyche Masoner (LHXT-LQ5) and Teter Masoner's (LDK8-JX1) marriage was deleted. I found that their marriage was not deleted, which I am happy about. Do you know what happened? I know that John L Masoner (KHJF-RHF) was deleted from Anna Mary Dyche, but kept him linked to Mary Lauderdale (LHWG-59J) his biological mother. Mary Lauderdale had relations with Teter Masoner which resulted in John L Masoner. As a side issue, how do I add Anna Mary Dyche as a step-mother to John L Masoner?

    Hi @JR Masoner

Because you are concerned about correcting information in Family Tree, we are moving this issue from the Other category to the Family Tree Help Center category.

In response to your concern, it would be best to list John Lauderdale Masoner KHJF-RHF back into the family with Anna and Peter Teter Masoner. When he is showing in the family, click the edit pencil to the right of his name and use the drop-down to show that Anna is his step-mother. This knowledge article describes how to select relationship types.

When a couple is not married but have a child together, it is appropriate to list the child with the parent and the person who was the biological parent's spouse. It is also appropriate to add a separate relationship with just the other biological parent so having John connected to Mary Lauderdale is also correct.

Currently John is listed with Peter and Mary in the same couple box, and if they never lived together as a couple, this is not the correct way to list John's parent-child relationships. You as a descendant, however, must decide how you wish to present the information about John's parent-child relationships. No relationship is currently showing between Mary and Peter, and one should not be added if you choose to leave them in the couple box and simply list a full, second set of parents which would be Peter and his spouse, Anna. The choice is yours.
