Just a note. In reviewing US muster rolls I noticed that there are multiple images with the same

information (names). Each with a different date so they are not duplicate images. At first I thought that I was reviewing the same batch again for some reason and then I realized that the date was different. I assume that some one realizes that these names are being indexed multiple times.

Hi @LarryClark43 . Yes, but. Those various rolls and rosters are individual components of a soldier’s military life. As such, they may be important to Researchers trying to build their relative’s complete military story - his “Military DNA” - where and when he or she was doing what assignment. Also, as has been mentioned elsewhere, Family Search and the owners of the data contract for FS to index certain records a certain way.
BTW, Look at the Remarks section of this December 1917 bi-monthly Muster Roll snip below about a recently minted Captain H Norman Schwarzkopf (the father, I think, of the General of the same name who liberated Kuwait during the First Gulf War). That’s an interesting tidbit for his descendants to know. Indexing that particular document ensures that they will see it. I wanted an excuse to share it.

I understand was just surprised that there were so many with the exact same information.
Thanks for sharing. I have also seen some very interesting notations.
