Reviewer responsibility for cut off images
I am new to reviewing but have done a bit. I am reviewing a marriage record and the image of the data farthest to the right was cut off. That field contained the last name of the person performing the marriage. The indexer wrote the portion of the last name that was showing. I am relatively certain that those entries do not reflect the correct last name. Should I, as a reviewer, just verify that the indexer has entered the partial last name as showing? Should I mark the last name as unreadable since it was cut off? Should I annotate the entry by the indexer to show that there is more to the last name than has been entered?
I would appreciate some advice.

Please share your batch copying and pasting the batch link or batch code.
When your batch is open, click Help, in the upper left just above the toolbar.
On the drop-down menu, click Share Batch. You'll see those 2 options.

Hi Stephen. For the best answer, please post your Batch information (URL or Batch Code). Help>Share Batch will show you how. But generally, an Indexer is supposed to index what is readable and mark unreadable portions of the text appropriately. As a Reviewer, you should correct any mistakes the Indexer makes. Here is a Help Article on this issue. The General Indexing Guidelines section of your Project Instructions shoul also address this issue.

When you index, you can see information that is difficult to read. Use these guidelines as you index unreadable information:
- One character. If you are unable to read 1 letter or number, use a question mark (?) to replace the unreadable letter or number. Example: H?ndley.
- Multiple characters. For consecutive unreadable letters or numbers, use an asterisk (*) to replace the unreadable group of letters or numbers. Example: Di*son.
- One field. When all of the information for an indexing field is unreadable, mark the field as Unreadable. Click in the field, and press Ctrl+U.
- Entire record. When all of the information in an entire record is unreadable, including the name, date, and any information for other required fields, mark the record as Unreadable. Press Ctrl+Shift+U.
- Entire image. If you cannot read any of the information on the image, mark it as having no Extractable data. In Step 1: Images, choose No, No Extractable Data.
