What does "MF" mean (figured out)

On these records every type of them I find under masculine or feminine every single slot has "mf" written in it. I'd assume male would be "m" and female would be "f" but I dont know why all slots have both letters listed. Most names seem like male names, but I dont get why the category doesnt just have "m" then.

edit: nevermind this document is clearer to read and I see it actually reads "manhood franchise" so mf means something about ability or right to vote, not male or female. the abbreviations used to designate voter status can be used though to find and individuals sex by knowing the voter types (as women could vote in some elections in canada during some of these time periods, but not in others.) http://olivetreegenealogy.blogspot.com/2019/07/manhood-franchise-interesting-puzzle-in.html
