Timeline does not end at death
Generally, the timeline for an individual in the FamilyTree ends at death/burial. In this case, for infant Michael Gilmore, his timeline continues for another 10 years. There may be a simple explanation, but I haven't found it yet. Any ideas?
Timelines for his parents and siblings end with their deaths/burials.
No that is not the issue. Other children - in the same nuclear family or others - have siblings born after their own death but the timeline still stops when the first child is deceased.
See, for example, Michael's brother John, LRDT-D8T. There were 2 children born later, but John's timeline ends with his death.0
I just went and looked at his timeline (https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/timeline/L6VV-336), and it ends with 1860 for me.
Weird momentary glitch?0
Still showing 1870 for me. I had exited and returned several times before I posted my query. Same on several different browsers - Firefox, Chrome, and Edge.
Thanks for looking.0
I am seeing the L6VV-336 timeline end in 1860.0
The settings for 2 brothers are the same, so it's not a matter of settings.0
I'd suggest clearing your cache, except if it's doing it in multiple browsers, then that's not it.
Does FS have some sort of "account-level cache"? Pages it renders and saves based on your recent activity? (Isn't that what the Recents list is, really?)
Maybe try removing him from your Recents list, and then go back and see if it changes the timeline?0
Yes, as with Julia, ends at 1860 when I view the timeline.0
I cleared cache/cookies before I ever came here to ask. Just cleared cookies again, as well as removing him from recents. No change.0
I have taken a look at both of these brothers. What I found was that it lists any sibling born after their birth. It does not list any sibling deaths.
Consistently both brothers' timelines list the births of Edward and Julia. Because Julia was born the same year as John, there are no timeline events after that year.
Take a look at Blanche McCarty (GZJL-RVT) - she is one of my ancestors. You will see 3 siblings born after her death. It appears that when you have Siblings checked under the Show options, the siblings births will show even after the person's death.
This does not seem to be unique to your ancestor.1

Yep. Works for me.0
Thank you, Suzytx, but that is not how the timelines appear when I view, as I already mentioned earlier. It is ONLY Michael's timeline that continues. None of the rest of the family displays anything after the person's death.0

Interesting! I think you have made a case for escalation to the engineers.0
